Diagnosis.
This and the next species are very similar, being a uniform, dark purplish brown with a diffuse, transverse and faint medial band on the forewing. The forewing is more purplish, less rufous and darker in fuliginosa. In the male genitalia the valves of errata van Eecke are broader, with the distal spine of the saccular part longer, more strongly and evenly curved.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. All material taken during the Mulu survey was from lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu and at 900m on G. Api except for one from 500m in hill dipterocarp forest on the former. The species has also been taken in lowland forest in Brunei.
