Amata cantori (Penang)

Diagnosis.
This is a robust, black species. The abdomen is completely black, the hindwing has a small transparent spot anterior of centrally (lacking in Bornean material). The distal two thirds of the forewing are transparent, yellowish but for a black discal bar and a black apical zone and wedge on CuA2 on the border.

Taxonomic notes. The valves of the male genitalia are similar apically to those of the next species, quadrate, with the distal angles produced.

Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat preference. The two Bornean specimens lack locality data.
