Moore, 1859, Cat. Lepid. Insects Mus. E. Ind. Co., 2: 346.

Ilema baruna

This and the next species are best distinguished on male genitalic characters. Both have rather deep green forewings with wavy darker and lighter fasciae, though the lighter elements, particularly towards the costa tend to be more prominent, whiter in the next species. In the male genitalia, the saccular part of the valve has a single slender process, rather than a serrate row of short spines.

Geographical range. Java, Sumatra, Borneo.

Habitat preference. All records are from lowland, mostly forested localities.
