17, 19mm. The facies is much as in the naphtha group with broad irregularities in the satiny reflection from the wings. The frons and palps are extensively rufous-yellow, the latter darker apically. The foretibia has a basal patch of the same colour, and the forewing costa is also slightly tinged yellow. The male genitalia are not of the naphtha type, having a needle-like distal part of the uncus arising from a triangular base. The valves are also diagnostically adorned with two large spines dorsally on the sacculus and a smaller one directed ventrally in a subapical position.

Paratype . SARAWAK: Gunung Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D. Holloway et al.) Site 15, February, Camp 2.5, Mulu, 1000m, 413461, lower montane forest, BM lymantriid slide 1582.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. The species is montane.
