Formofentonia orbifer

Diagnosis.
The apical pale pinkish brown circle of the forewing is unique in the family and is reminiscent of certain Thyatiridae and species of the noctuid genus Plagideicta Warren; these do not have the broad creamy white zone along the forewing dorsum.

Geographical range. N. E. Himalaya; Taiwan; Sundaland, Sulawesi.

Habitat preference. Recorded from a range of forest types from the lowlands to 2000 m, but perhaps slightly more common in montane forests.
