Brykia horsfieldi

Brykia horsfieldi

Diagnosis.
The species has a characteristic dark streak with a white (or sometimes fawn) crescent distad submarginally in the centre of the forewing.

Taxonomic note. B. ferruginea Nakamura is tentatively included as a synonym as the original illustration is indistinguishable from horsfieldi and the genitalia characters used to distinguish the two species are variable and subject to distortion in preparation.

Geographical range. Sundaland.

Habitat preference. The species is frequent in various lowland forest types including dry kerangas and swamp forest; it was not recorded in lowland limestone forest on G. Api in the Mulu National
