Diagnosis
. See the generic description. The mauve-grey wings with rufous, rather lunulate submarginal marks, edged intensely by a double black arc and containing white wedges, are unmistakable.

Geographical range. Thailand (VK), Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Sulawesi.

Habitat preference. The species is rare, five specimens being from lowland localities, all forested: one from alluvial forest at 70m in the G. Mulu National Park; three from 300m in the Ulu Temburong of Brunei; one from the Segama river in the vicinity of the Danum Valley Field Centre in Sabah. However, there is a fifth specimen from 1618m on Bukit Retak.
