Ischyja paraplesius Rothschild
Potamophora paraplesius Rothschild, 1920, J. Fed. Malay States Mus., 8: 121.

Ischyja paraplesius Ischyja paraplesius

Diagnosis. The facies is similar to that of hemiphaea except the paler basal zone of the marginal area of the forewing is more distinctly mauve, and this is streaked more strongly into the darker distal part. The reniform is more triangular and is conspicuous in both sexes, as the female has the basal half of the wing much darker than in hemiphaea. The blue band of the female hindwing is generally broader than in hemiphaea; this difference is not evident in males.

Geographical range. Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat preference. The species is infrequent in forested localities from the lowlands to the upper montane zone at around 1800m.
