Ericeia eriophora

Diagnosis. See the previous species. There is more sexual dimorphism in eriophora, males having the forewing submarginal zone continuously and broadly darkened, whereas darkening is restricted to the apical area in the somewhat browner females (but is still broader than in pertendens). The male has the forewing reniform large, darkened, curved, sausage-like, whereas it is obscure in the female.

Geographical range. Oriental tropics to Philippines and Sulawesi.

Habitat preference. Records have been infrequent in recent surveys but range from the lowlands to 2600m; the species is slightly commoner at higher altitudes.
