Atacira pala (holotype)


11-12mm. The forewing ground colour is pale purplish grey, more pale fawn over the basal half; the reniform is prominent, dark brown, with the transverse diffuse dark brown medial angled at it so as to meet both costa and dorsum approximately at right angles; the submarginal consists of an even row of dentations directed basad, except for the larger costal triangle; the postmedial is faint, narrow, irregular, sinuous, slightly paler.

Holotype . SARAWAK: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D. Holloway et al) BM 1978-206, Site 16, March, Long Pala (Base) 70m, 324450, Alluv./secondary for., MV on batu (Canopy).

Paratypes. 1 (BM noctuid slide 10622), 1 (slide 10967) as holotype; l (slide 10965) with same general data but site 17, March, nr. Long Melinau, 50m, 313441, low secondary for., MV on river bank.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. All specimens have been taken in alluvial forest at different successional stages.
