Zanclopera sp. probably falcata Warren

Diagnosis.
The excavate hindwing apex, falcate forewings, general ochreous fawn colour and dorsal strengthening of the forewing postmedial are diagnostic.

Taxonomic notes. The taxon calidata is very close in facies and genitalic features to falcata and is therefore considered conspecific.

Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, S. China, Taiwan, Burma, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat preference. A single Bornean male has been seen (Forest Research Centre Collection, Sepilok, Sabah), taken at Sook in a lowland area now largely deforested.

Biology. The larva of this or a closely related species has been reared in Hong Kong by M.J. Bascombe (pers. comm.). The larva (above) is slender, blackish, with a paler, dark yellowish venter and some segmentally regular transverse stippling of grey dorsally.

The host-plant recorded was Cinnamomum camphora (Lauraceae).
