Lyclene apiseriata sp. n.

Lyclene apiseriata (paratype)
(x 1.67)

Lyclene apiseriata
(lightly, marked, in USNM)
(x 1.67)

8-9mm. The species is larger than biseriata (7mm), with a central fascia present on the forewing, but with all markings less clearly defined, though there is a streak at the hindwing apex not seen in biseriata. The genitalia have the valves broader, including the apical part, and the spur of the right saccular process is distinctly subapical. A specimen in USNM from 1530m 1km south of Kundasang on the slopes of G. Kinabalu has male genitalia as in apiseriata but in combination with reduction of the wing markings to the submarginal series; it is illustrated on above, second specimen, but not included in the type series.
