9mm. The forewings are paler than in fulvioides, less heavily marked with orange, the marking more punctate. The size is similar, however. The male genitalia have the aedeagus only slightly flexed. The uncus consists of short, overlapping bifid and bilobed processes. The valves are simple, each with a slight, asymmetric cucullus, that of the left valve more falcate.

Holotype  SARAWAK: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 19778 (J.D. Holloway et al.), Site 14, February, Camp 2.5, Mulu, 1000m. 413461, lower montane for., BM arctiid slide 5139.

Paratypes: 4 as holotype; 2 as holotype but Site 15; 2 general data as holotype but Site 25, April, G. Api, 900m. 427550, lower montane forest; 1 (slide 5181) as holotype but Site 13, February, Camp 2, Mulu, 500m. 401464, mixed dipt. for.; 1 (slide 5146) general data as holotype but Site 23, April, W. Melinau Gorge, 250m. 430558, FEG 4, limestone forest.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. Most material is from lower montane forest, but the species occurs more rarely in forest down to 250m. In addition to the specimens listed, there is one from 600m at Poring at the foot of G. Kinabalu.
