, 7-8mm. This species is slightly larger than muricolor, with the pale edge to the forewing costa more obscure, often barely evident. The male genitalia are diagnostic, with an evenly curved saccular process to the valve (sharply angled in muricolor), a more broadly quadrifid juxta (trifid in muricolor, the central process small), and a very much smaller cornutus in the aedeagus vesica.

Holotype . SARAWAK: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D. Holloway et al.), Site 28, May, nr Long Pala, FEG 1a, 328428, 50m. alluvial forest, BM arctiid slide 4701.

Paratypes (dissected specimens only): 1 (slide 5464) general data as holotype but Site 13, Camp 2, Mulu, 500m. 401464, mixed dipt. for.; 1 (slide 4845) general data as holotype but Site 16, Long Pala (Base), 70m. 324450, alluv/ secondary forest; 1 (slide 5452) general data as holotype but Site 20, W. Melinau Gorge, 150m. 422577, FEG 3, kerangas; 2 (slides 5467, 5470) SABAH: Poring, 1800ft., E. of Mt. Kinabalu, 20-23.i. 1976 (E. W. Classey).

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. This is a species of lowland forest like muricolor.
