Rhagastis Rothschild & Jordan

Type species: velata Walker.

The second segments of the palps do not touch each other so the base of the tongue remains visible; these segments are not so narrow as in the next genus, having a large apical tuft on the inner side, and a much smaller naked area (Rothschild & Jordan, 1903).

The forewing facies is less linear, more dotted and mottled.

The genus is diverse in the Oriental tropics and subtropics (D'Abrera, 1986: 200).
