Hypena borneolivacea sp. n.

Hypena borneolivacea
Figure 414

25mm. This species has somewhat similar forewing facies to iconicalis and similata but is larger, with the forewing a more uniform olive green-brown. The straight, transverse postmedial divides a darker basal half from a paler distal half, a narrow darkening of the former giving way abruptly to a narrow whitish edge to the latter along its length. There is a faintly darker antemedial that is angled subcostally as in the other two species. The female has long labial palps, the longer second segment heavily invested with dark scales, broader centrally on the dorsal side. In the male, the palps are slightly less robust, and the second segment is less robust and has paler scales. The pairing is therefore only tentative despite the very similar facies. The male genitalia are generally similar to those of iconicalis and similata, but the valves are relatively longer and narrower. The aedeagus is slender. The abdomen of the female was damaged and the bursa was mostly missing.
