12, 13mm. This species resembles pseudohypena but has a much more uniform chocolate-brown forewing within which the tranverse line is still distinct, with the brown slightly paler distal to it. The genitalia have the eighth segment rather capsulate, and the ostium is broad in a square pocket. The ductus bursae is very short, and the corpus bursae is ovate and much narrower than that of pseudohypena.

Holotype . SARAWAK: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D. Holloway et al.), Site 27, April, G. Api, 1500m, Pandanus Camp, 429541, scrub, Pandanus, BM noctuid slide 19660.

Paratype . SARAWAK as holotype but Site 26, April, G. Api, Pinnacles, 1200m, 428545, open scrub.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. Both specimens are from an area of montane forest and scrub on limestone pinnacle karst.
