Bertula pallidicosta sp. n.

Bertula pallidicosta
Figure 98

15mm. The facies is similar to that of crucialis, but longitudinal white streaks are lacking except for a distinctive discal mark on the forewing. The antemedial fascia of the forewing is more basal, and the submarginal is more diffuse and irregular, set obliquely so it converges on the postmedial subdorsally before a slight angle distad. The forewing costa is an ochreous cream colour. The valves of the male genitalia are narrower than in crucialis, tapering to a point at the apex rather than being rounded. The saccus is shorter and more rounded, and the uncus is also shorter and deeper. The aedeagus has spining restricted to a small distal diverticulum, whereas it is also extensive on a dorsal lobe in crucialis.
