Diagnosis.
See C. maillardi Guenee.

Taxonomic note. The taxa brought into synonymy above show minor differences in facies but have identical male genitalia, with a distinctive feature of a strong cornutus in the aedeagus vesica. The taxa xanthopera and cyclopis could be applied at a subspecific level to S. Indian with Sri Lankan populations and Australasian populations respectively.

Geographical range. Indo-Australian tropics east to Solomons.

Habitat preference.
Material taken on G. Kinabalu was mostly from a cultivated area with forest remnants at 1200 (Bundu Tuhan). A specimen has also been taken in lowland forest (300m) in Brunei.
