Pamphlebia rubrolimbraria

Diagnosis.
See the generic description. The size, acute forewing apex and hindwing angle, and strong red lining to the wing margins are diagnostic.

Geographical range. Widespread in Indo-Australian tropics east to Bismarck Is. and north to Japan.

Habitat preference. The four specimens taken in recent surveys have been from lowland forest and secondary forest with coastal vegetation. In Sulawesi, greater frequency in disturbed, rather open habitats has been noted.

Biology. The larva has been recorded on rice in Java (unpublished IIE records).
