Dysaethria exprimataria

Diagnosis.
The species has a general appearance as in dealbata but is distinguished by a creamier ground colour and generally more intense brown striation. The forewing postmedial is more linear, less clouded. The male genitalia have a longer row of paddle-scales on the valve, a broader, more robust T-shaped juxta and no distinct cornuti amongst the scobination of the aedeagus vesica.

Taxonomic notes. This species has been placed as a synonym of D. conflictaria Walker (e.g. as listed by Nielsen, Edwards & Rangsi (1996)), but is unrelated. See comments under dealbata above on similar-looking material from Java and Luzon.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. The species is rare, but ranges from the lowlands to the upper montane zone (1620m on G. Kinabalu).
