"Euproctis” longipalpa Collenette

Euproctis longipalpa Collenette, 1938, J. fed. Malay St. Mus., 18: 265.

"Euproctis” longipalpa

Diagnosis.
Only females are known. The ground colour is a pale orange-brown, stippled darker on the forewing except for slight lacunae at the distal margin. There is a weak discal spot and faintly paler, narrow postmedial and antemedial fasciae, the former rather sinuous. The hindwing is dark grey except for a narrow but distinct border of the ground colour.

Taxonomic note. The genitalia are distinguished by abnormally setose ovipositor lobes and an extremely complicated sclerotisation and convolution of the lamellae vaginales.

Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat preference. Two females have been taken: from 1930m on G. Kinabalu; from 1618m on Bukit Retak in Brunei.
