Negeta montanata
(holotype)


12-14mm. This species is larger than contrariata but has a similar forewing colour and pattern except the subapical costal white triangle is larger and deeper, more as in aureata. In the genitalia the sterigma is more elongate, tubular, less heart-shaped.

Holotype . SABAH: Mt. Kinabalu, Park H.Q., 1620m, vii-ix.1965, Cambridge Expedition to Mt. Kinabalu 1965 (H.J. Banks, H.S. Barlow & J.D. Holloway), BM noctuid slide 17344.

Paratypes: 1 as holotype but Kiau Gap, 1760m; 1E as holotype but Power Station, 1930m.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. The species is rare and only known from G. Kinabalu between 1620m and 1930m.
