Risoba guichardi sp. n.

Risoba guichardi
(paratype)

14mm, 15mm. The facies is of the repugnans type. The forewing is a very dark green, with basal and apical patches as in the repugnans group. However the former is relatively large (the thorax being a similar pale creamy fawn colour) and the latter relatively small, lacking the arcuate division seen in other species. There is only a single, rather elongate patch more distally on the dorsum. There is a dull ochreous fawn discal spot. The male genitalia have rather short valves, but these are ornamented weakly as in the repugnans group. The aedeagus vesica has two spined bands rather than separated large cornuti.

Holotype . E. SABAH: Brumas, 500 ft. 26.4.1973 (K.M. Guichard), BM noctuid slide 18012.

Paratype . As holotype.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. Both specimens are from an area of lowland forest now cleared for softwood plantations.
