Xenochroa notodontina


Diagnosis.
This species is as large as diluta but with the forewings fasciated in dull greenish brown and grey. The antemedial and postmedial are diffuse but never as broad as in plesiogramma (see above) which also has more distinct grey banding.

Taxonomic note. The above synonymy is based on forewing facies similarity. The paratype of X. trilineata Warren (see below) from Penang is also referable to notodontina. Bornean material has the fasciae more clearly defined and more broadly separated by the medial zone; it is associated tentatively

Geographical range. Java, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia; ?Borneo.

Habitat preference. All five Bornean specimens are from 1465m to 1618m on Bukit Retak in Brunei.
