Xenochroa plesiogramma

Diagnosis.
See the previous species. The medial grey zone of the forewing is broader and contains a faintly darker discal spot.

Taxonomic note. Kobes (1997) appears to use the same female specimen to represent
rubiginosa Roepke and zonata in figs 153 and 285. It is plesiogramma.

Geographical range.
Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java.

Habitat preference. The species is as rare as transpurpuralis, with only four specimens taken in recent surveys, but generally at lower altitudes: singletons from heath and dipterocarp forest at 150m in the vicinity of G. Mulu; one from stunted hill forest at 900m on G. Monkobo in Sabah; one from 1620m on G. Kinabalu. The holotype is from montane forest at about 1300m on G. Penrisen in Sarawak.
