Diagnosis.
The forewing has grey and reddish brown shading that is paler and greyer towards the costa. The fasciae are rather curved, the antemedial oblique, and there is a diagnostic darker red shade on the costa distal to the postmedial. The hindwings and abdomen are dark grey, darker than the forewings, though the former have a paler costal zone wherein the veins are darkly defined.

Geographical range. Taiwan, Sundaland, Philippines, Sulawesi, Moluccas.

Habitat preference. Only one specimen has been taken in recent surveys, in an area of swamp forest (Daerah Belait, 15m) in the lowlands of Brunei.
