Schistorhynx argentistriga

Diagnosis. The two species in Borneo are very similar, but males of lobata Prout have a distinctly triangular hindwing, rather than a normal rounded one, caused by a slight lobing of the tornus. The hindwings have a generally greyer tone in lobata with, on the underside, the postmedial being faint, less sinuous, and closer to the discal mark. In argentistriga the postmedial is much more definite amid a slightly more variegated ground area.

Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, S. China (Hong Kong; A.C. Galsworthy, pers. comm.), Borneo.

Habitat preference. All records are from montane forests, at 1000m on G. Mulu and at 1620m and 1930m on G. Kinabalu.
