Thysanoplusia
Ichinose
Type species: intermixta Warren.
Ichinose (1973) regarded this genus as distinct from the previous three
on grounds of larval characters as mentioned in the introduction to the
subfamily, though the species concerned were placed in Trichoplusia by
Inoue et al. (1982). The species included here all lack the central
maculation of the forewing but have a broad, brassy green area distally. The
male genitalia are large, slender, with elongate valves and a slender clavus
that follows the curvature of the part of the valve on which it is based. The
aedeagus vesica is long, scobinate over the basal half, and has a distal double
cornutus. The status of other species included by Ichinose needs investigation.
