Taxonomic notes. The taxa kuehni and insulata both occur in New Guinea and
have identical male and female genitalia. The former is probably merely a form
of the latter, having the facies extensively clouded with pinkish grey. It is
therefore brought into synonymy. The Philippines taxon retessellata, represented
only by males, and a Javanese female have genitalia as in insulata hence
are also considered conspecific.
Geographical range. New Guinea, Key Is., Dammer, Larat, Seram, Sulawesi.
Philippines, Java, Bali, Borneo.
Habitat preference. A specimen has been taken in a lowland softwood
plantation in Sabah by Mr Chey Vun Khen.
